There are not many building types that are simpler in concept than an aircraft hangar. For an architect, that simplicity is both an asset and a challenge. We leaned into that challenge in the design for this new hangar building at Centennial Airport. The larger form of the hangar structure is balanced by the additional visual weight of materials on the smaller office area in front of it. The overall composition is both striking and compelling.
